On the occasion of World Cancer Day on 4th February 2021, a webinar was conducted by the NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME UNIT headed by Dr. Zaheer Ahmed (Professor) and DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH DENTISTRY of NAVODAYA DENTAL COLLEGE and HOSPITAL, Raichur with the theme as mentioned by the WHO 2021 “WE CAN AND WE WILL” The chief guest of the programme was Dr.T Srinivas, Registrar, NET, whose presence and his words of wisdom made the programme glorious.
The programme was hosted in the Audio-Visual (A-V hall-1) of central library, Navodaya Education Trust. The day started with the welcome address by Dr.Girish Katti ,Principal, NDC followed by the invocation song, lamp lighting ceremony and felicitation programme. The guest speakers were introduced by Dr.Suresh Babu ( Professor). The first guest lecture was delivered by Dr.Vivek Shetty (Head and Neck Onco-surgeon; Mazumdar shah Medical centre, Unit of Narayana Health, Bangalore ) on “ Recent prospective on Oral Cancer”. The second guest speaker Dr.Neel Kamal ( HOD, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Al-Badar Rural Dental College and Hospital Kalburgi) who delivered guest lecture on the topic “Oral Pre-Malignant Lesions” . The programme was concluded with vote of thanks from Dr. Zaheer Ahmed.
This half-day webinar was accredited with 3 CDE points by Karnataka State Dental Council, Bangaluru.
