Shaktinagar is famous for its thermal power station which generates electricity from coal and is called R.T.P.S. Raichur thermal power station, it is located 24km from Raichur.

The department of public health dentistry Navodaya Dental College and hospital organized oral health awareness camp at CISF unit, Shakthinagar on 08/12/23. CISF unit is the Indian Central Armed Force that works underneath the Ministry of Home Affairs of Indian government. Dr.Girish Katti, Principal,NDC, Dr.Suresh babu, Dr.Zaheer Ahmed, Dr.Somanath Reddy and Dr.Nasi Ismail attended the camp along with interns Sanjay, Vishal, Suji Kiran, Preeti , Hiba, Revan Sidda. We reached the army camp at around 9.30 am, initial inauguration and welcome speech was addressed by assistant commandant

Chief Guest Dr.Girish katti Principal, NDC gave speech emphasizing oral hygiene measures and prevention of oral diseases. Guest of honor Dr.Suresh Babu A.M addressed the gathering and delivered valuable speech enlightening about tooth structure, periodontium and major prevalent oral health diseases. Dr.Zaheer Ahmed gave a motivating speech regarding oral habits and oral cancer and Dr.Nasi Ismail gave an insight into the myths of extraction. Followed by health education about brushing technique, avulsion and wasting disorders by the interns Suji kiran, Preeti, and Hiba. Dental screening was performed and a total of 42 participants were screened and 30 were referred to the Navodaya Dental College, Raichur
