WORLD AIDS DAY is dedicated to create awareness of the HIV/AIDS in the minds of the people all over the world on 1st of December every year. At the theme “TAKE THE RIGHT PATH: MY HEALTH MY RIGHT!”, highlights the critical role of human rights in the fight against HIV/AIDS and emphasis health as an essential right of human by need to be treated equally without stigma or discrimination that obstructs an AIDS-free world. Proper education on preventing AIDS would also be pivotal in its achievement.
1st December, 2024 Sunday the programme was commenced by various activities including health talks and skits performed by students of NDC and NMC at the lobby of Navodaya Medical College. The programme was inaugurated by RMO, NMC.
Department of public health dentistry, Navodaya dental college, organized a rally in collaboration with District Health Office of Raichur. The rally was inaugurated by Senior Civil Judge and JMFC, Raichur and CEO of Raichur at DC office around 10.00am ON Monday 2nd of December 2024. Hanumanth Satwik, Senior Civil Judge and JMFC, Raichur quoted Karnataka stands 3rd in the prevalence of AIDS in Karnataka with active AIDS patients of 3470 and also the Prevalence of cases in last 3 years is decreasing. The rally covered all the important places like Gandhi Chouk, Mahaveer circle, Theen khandil circle and ended up in DHO office at 1:15 noon and around 50 students of our college participated in the rally. The team of interns of Navodaya Dental College performed the awareness skit at Theenkanthil and was well applauded by general public. Dr. Suresh Babu A M, Prof. & Head, Dept of PHD, Dr.Zaheer Ahmed, Professor, Dr.Kiran Kumar, Associate Professor, Dr.Somanath Reddy, Associate Professor, Dr.Nasi Ismail, Assistant Professor, along with interns and final year students attended the rally.
