The World Health Organization has designated 31st May of each year as the WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY (WNTD). The theme of WNTD 2024 is “PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM TOBACCO INDUSTRY INTERFERENCE.”The focus of WNTD 2024 is children and tobacco industry.The rally was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry, NSS Unit Navodaya Dental College along with district health office.
Dr. Girish Katti (Principal) Dr. Suresh Babu A M (HOD), Dr. Zaheer Ahmed (prof), Dr.Kiran Kumar B.D (Reader), Dr. Somnath Reddy Kunsi (Reader),Dr.Nasi Ismail (Sr.Lecturer) and 3rd BDS as well as interns of Navodaya Dental College gathered at College premises at 9 am from where we were taken to District Health Office by college bus, we reached the district health office at 9:30am
The Programme was inaugurated by District Judge by flag off the Rally. The rally began from the district health office covering the important places in the market like mahveer circle, cloth bazaar,teen khandil and kati darwaza and back to district health office. Placards were held with slogans raise and pamphlets were distributed to the public.
The students of navodaya dental college performed the skit at kati darwaza to create awareness among the young children and youth.
