On the occasion of Public Health Dentistry Day 2022 Department of Public Health Dentistry organized a series of events. The programme started with the “PUBLIC HEALTH DENTISTRY WEEK” from 11/06/2022 to 18/06/2022 where camps were conducted in about 05 schools around Raichur city to spread the awareness among the 1500 school children about their dental health and to spread the message that oral health is the gateway to the general health.
As a part of this programme a “ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION” was also conducted among the high school children of these schools . Following this was a online “LOGO AND SLOGAN COMPETITION” for the undergraduate students across the country with the theme “IMPORTANCE OF PUBLIC HEALTH DENTISTRY”.
The conclusion of the programme was with “THE ORAL HEALTH FEST” which consisted of an exhibition regarding the various aspects of oral health and general health. The exhibition was attended by 1000 school students across Raichur city and also by the other fraternities of Navodaya Educational trust.
The fest included the oral health awareness exhibition along with the recreation stalls for the visitiors.the prgramme was inaugurated by DR.T.Srinivas (Registrar,NET) and DR Vijaykumar (Director IP & SA) in the presence of Dr.Girish Katti (Principal NDC) and other special gusets of Honour which includes Prinicipals of the other instituitions of NET and all other faculties and staff members.
The started with a welcome address by Dr. Girish katti (prioncipal NDC) and a small lecture on the importance of the day was given by Dr.Suresh Babu (Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry) About 1000 school children visited the exhibition. The winners for the essay , slogan and logo competition was declared by the respected judges and they were awarded with certificates of appreciation. The programme successfully created a awareness among the school children and other students of NET the importance of oral health.
