Dr. N. K. Bhat Centre for Simulation & Research is a novel initiative by Navodaya Medical College to train medical graduates and allied health professionals. It is an advanced educational centre taking medical education to the next level.
The area of the skill lab is 7500 sq. ft. with different sections imparting training to students in the basic and advanced medical and surgical sections. The centre is one among the best medical simulation centres in South India in the terms of infrastructure and sophisticated resources.
The well-equipped centre provides cutting-edge technology with modern mannequins. Both the educational needs of our students and the clinical needs of the patients are met in an innovative way in the centre. The centre has been IAP (Indian Academy of Paediatrics) recognised for BLS training since 2015. Our Skill Lab is well equipped to support the RGUHS-JEEVA RAKSHA’s – C-ECLS Course. We also have full equipped facilities that promote skill-based training of the upcoming National Medical Commissions (NMCs), competency-based medical education, which involves various skill-training programmes for medical students.
Our State-of-the-art facilities are located on the top floor of the Navodaya Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. The Skill & Simulation Centre provides medical graduates and allied health professionals with a robust platform to learn and master critical skills to ensure procedural efficiency and promote quality outcome. The system offers a range of basic and advanced procedure, and incorporates detailed and complete metrics for skill assessment. We have, as of now, 19 RGUHS certified trainers from various departments to deliver the essential skills to students
The Simulation Centre has various trainers to cater to professional services in a variety of fields. High-fidelity simulators such as the SimMan™ can be programmed to test the ability of a student to integrate his or her assessment and diagnostic skills into decision making.
