The newly established state-of-the-art Central Library occupies a place of pride in Navodaya and is an essential component of the institute’s quality research and education mission. It is a most sparkling place on the campus providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promotes new learning and discovery. The library facilitates creation of new knowledge through acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge resources. Our central library functions round the clock for the benefit of the students, the faculties and the research scholars. The central library is unique in entire North Karnataka, equipped with modern technology and provides various library services of international standards. The library has open access, with latest automation facilities for hassle-free transactions and separate reading rooms for undergraduate, post graduate and faculty members, stacking room with capacity of more than one lakh books, digital libraries, media libraries and three conference halls.
Ground Floor
The impressive front entrance leads to the help desk, undergraduate reading rooms, undergraduate digital library, and book stacking rooms where very important titles from various medical branches are stored. There is also a Reference Section hall with a seating capacity of 400 students. The floor has also a conference hall and a hygienic food court. Library information kiosks are placed at the entrance for checking books availability and reserve the books in advance.
First Floor
The first floor of the Central Library has been dedicated to the postgraduate sections. The floor has a separate reading room, national & international Journal section, digital library, two conference halls and media library.

DIGITAL LIBRARY
Computers with Internet browsing facility provided at the first floor and second floor. This facility is meant to be used free of cost by the faculty members, residents and students only for browsing the Internet for their academic, research and patient care-related matters.

Services to Members
Latest editions of medical, para-medical and general books of famous authors are procured every year and offered for referencing and circulation. The total collection of books as on date is 32714, apart from 3999 books procured exclusively under the Book Bank Scheme for the benefit of SC/ST students. 345 Journals from Indian and International Publishers are subscribed for the year 2010. Presently, the bound volume collection of the Journal Section is 15,652.Â
•   Identity Card is compulsory to enter the library
•   personal belongings not allowed inside the library
•   Enter your name and Sign in the register kept at the entrance of the library
•   Silence to be maintained in the library premises
•   No discussion permitted inside the library
•   everages and Eatables are not allowed inside the library.
•   Using Mobile phones and headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
•   Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources
•   Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library
•   The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
•   Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
•   Students are require to handle the books/ Journal very carefully; marking with pencil , writing or highlighting , tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.
•   Newspapers, magazines and journals must be read only in the library on specific tables and should not be taken to any other reading areas
•   Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources and Member registration will be done at the circulation section.
•   Books will be issued on presentation of the library card along with the ID card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return
•   Students will get total two books for fifteen days
•   Books must be return on or before the due date otherwise the fine of Rs. 5 will be charged per
day/book.
•   If issued books has lost by the user, user should pay double amount of the book or submit brand new books.
•   Library has SC/ST book bank scheme, SC/ST students can become a member of the book bank giving application along with caste certificate, by paying refundable membership fee of Rs. 100 for UG Rs.200 for PG for the full duration of course.
•   Members of the book bank will be issued 4 textbooks for each semester. Book shall be returned within two days after the theory examination, otherwise a fine of Rs.1/- per day will be charged.
