ANTI-RAGGING WORKSHOP (14/11/2024)

As per the DCI circular, Anti-Ragging Workshop was conducted on November 14th 2024 at Navodaya Dental College, Raichur. The Anti-Ragging event was attended by all new batch 1st year BDS students, senior students and faculties from all the departments.
The program was commenced with watering the plant followed by escorting the dignitaries to the dais. Chief Guest, Dr. Shivsharan, DCI member. Guest of Honour, Dr. T Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust. Phanishree Patil, Advocate and Legal consultant. Dr. Girish Katti, Principal, Navodaya Dental College, Raichur. The event was enriched by an invocation song.
Dr.Anila K, Associate Professor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, delivered the welcome address. Dr.Somanath Reddy K, Associate Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, has given brief introduction of the Chief Guest.
This function was presided by Dr.Girish Katti, Principal, NDC Raichur, inaugurated the Anti-Ragging Day and urged members and all senior students to have commitment to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all students in the campus. He stressed the collective responsibility of both faculty and students in eradicating any form of ragging within the campus ensuring a ragging free campus. Â
Dr.T.Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur, emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of respect among students, human values are important rather than education and highlighted the institution’s zero-tolerance towards ragging.
Dr.Shivsharan, DCI member, had graced the occasion and delivered a lecture on ragging, its consequences and prevention, also the importance of mutual respect, communication and inclusivity in creating a nurturing space for learning.
Phanishree Patil, Advocate and Legal consultant, spoke about legal consequences of ragging.
Following that, a felicitation ceremony for the Distinguished Guests, Dr.Shivsharan, DCI Member and Phanishree Patil, Advocate and Legal consultant.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.Rizwana Anjum, Assistant Professor, Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, expressing gratitude to the Guests, Faculty and Students for making the event successful.
The ceremony ended with the National Anthem, after which guests and attendees were invited for Hi-Tea.
